Residents of central Babonneau and Fond Assau will soon benefit from improved healthcare access and enhanced facilities as the Government of Saint Lucia moves forward with the rehabilitation of two major wellness centres in the region.
Two contracts, valued at a combined EC $2.6 million, have officially been signed to begin the much-anticipated upgrades to the Babonneau Wellness Centre and the Fond Assau Wellness Centre.
The Babonneau Wellness Centre rehabilitation has been awarded to Prudy’s Construction Services Ltd and is being funded through the Health System Strengthening Project. Meanwhile, Tripple L Company Ltd will undertake the rehabilitation of the Fond Assau Wellness Centre, financed under the OECS Regional Health Project.
Both projects are scheduled to be completed over a six-month period and are expected to bring significant improvements to the infrastructure, safety, and service delivery of the two facilities.
These initiatives mark a strong commitment to strengthening primary healthcare in Saint Lucia, ensuring that communities in rural areas are not left behind in the nation’s ongoing health development efforts.
