Canaries Dominates Anse La Raye in SLFA Senior Women’s Football Competition

The SLFA Inc. Senior Women’s Football Competition, held under the inspiring theme “Let Them Play,” continued on Wednesday night at the Anse La Raye Playing Field with an emphatic display of dominance by the Canaries team.

Canaries delivered a commanding 9–0 victory over hosts Anse La Raye in a match that left no doubt about their intentions in this year’s tournament. Leading the charge was Cassandra Shepherd, who delivered an outstanding individual performance, netting seven goals in the 22nd, 42nd, 68th, 70th, 76th, 79th, and 80th minutes — an incredible haul that firmly placed her among the top performers of the competition.

The scoring spree was further supported by Theona Auguste in the 23rd minute, and Shunya Jn. Baptiste in the 58th, sealing a relentless offensive effort by the Canaries side.

The win sends a strong message to the rest of the competition, as Canaries continues to assert themselves as serious title contenders in this year’s Senior Women’s tournament.
