WITH the third annual GIMIES to take place tonight, April 12, 2025, the tourism and hospitality industry is set to take the spotlight once more. This year’s ceremony showcases the outstanding contributions of individuals and businesses that tirelessly advocate for Saint Lucia as a premier destination.
As the red carpet is unfurled, the numerous unsung heroes diligently striving to elevate the visitor experience from every port eagerly await an extraordinary evening at The Saint Lucia Tourism Awards.
As stated by Dr. Ernest Hilaire, the Minister of Tourism, Investment Creative Industries, Culture and Information,
“We are proud to honour these esteemed people, who have not only contributed to enhancing our tourism landscape but have also created unforgettable memories for everyone who visits. Saint Lucia has been on an upward trajectory, and we know things will only get better with a solid unified approach to service excellence.”
This evening, thirty awards, known as GIMIES, will be presented, with fifteen individuals and fifteen businesses emerging as winners. The evening’s allure is heightened by the presentation of special recognition awards, including the Lifetime Achiever for 2024/25 and, of course, a beloved highlight, the People’s Choice Award.

Following weeks of voting and result verification, the top three candidates in the People’s Choice race have been determined:
Alvin Fanis, Owner, ATV Direct; Ile Dominique, Smoothie Boat Seller at Sugar Beach and
Marva Williams, Supervisor of Tour Guides, SRDF
The recipient of the prestigious GIMIES People’s Choice Award will be revealed this evening alongside more than 30 presentations.
The GIMIES is presented with pride by the Ministry of Tourism, the Saint Lucia Tourism Authority, and the Saint Lucia Hospitality and Tourism Association (Tourism Enhancement Fund).
