Young Athletes Shine at Anglican Inter-House School Meet

IT was a thrilling occasion for the young athletes from the Cannon Laurie Anglican School, which conducted its annual Primary and Infant Inter House Sports Meet at the Daren Sammy Cricket Ground (DSCG), as they delivered some outstanding performances. 

Patterson House dominated the event, clinching victory with an impressive 243 points, narrowly surpassing Vaughn House, which secured second place with 239 points.

Weeks House followed closely with 237 points in third place, while Vanderpool House finished with 185 points.

At the Infant School level, King House emerged as the unequivocal champions with 121 points, a solid 16-point lead over Collymore House, which took second place with 105 points. Lake House secured third with 86 points, and James House finished fourth with 66 points.

The event featured remarkable performances by young athletes: Kindergarten

– Female: Ayahne Leon: 1st place 300m, 2nd place 150m, 3rd place 80m

– Male: Kavani Dominique: 1st place 60m; Jordan Francis: 2nd place 60m

Grade 1

– Female: Unique Joseph: 1st place 60m; Meghan Mathurin: 2nd place 60m

– Male: Noah Sonson: 1st place 60m; Kimani George: 2nd place 60m

Under 9

– Female: Lucinda Altius: 1st place 60m, 1st place 150m; Precious Richards: 2nd place 150m

– Male: Kieron Dupre: 1st place 60m, 1st place 150m; Mike Dey: 1st place 150m, 3rd place 60m

Under 11- Female: Ellisa Leon: 1st place 300m, 2nd place 150m, 3rd place 80m; Hermara Joseph: 3rd place 300m; Salina Cetoute: 1st place 600m

– Male:  Jaden James: 1st place 600m; King Altenor: 1st place 80m, 1st place 150m

– Under 13 – Female: Yannicka Bretney: 1st place 1000m, 3rd place 300m, 1st place 600m; Liz Dupre: 1st place 80m; Adelle Clercin: 1st place 300m, 3rd place 1000m –

– Male: Kaleb Benjamin: 1st place 600m, 1st place 1000m; Issacher Griffith: 1st place 300m, 2nd place 600m, 3rd place 1200m; Nerthan Bertrand: 1st place 80m, 2nd place 1200m

The spirit of camaraderie and competition was palpable throughout the day, making it a memorable event for all participants and spectators.
