SOCCER fans are in for an exhilarating experience this weekend, as the finals of Veterans in Sports (VIS) Inc. will take place at the Dennery playing field.
A highly anticipated mini-derby between two southern teams will showcase the fierce competition in the Main Championship Final.
VIS Inc. organizer Alvin Malaykhan told VOICE SPORTS, “We expect an exciting weekend of soccer. The communities have been enthusiastically preparing for this event, and we are confident that the sporting rivalry among the teams and overwhelming community support will bring a fantastic atmosphere, with fans turning out in force to cheer for their teams.”
Today (Saturday), the Plate Championship will highlight the following matches:
– Third Place Playoff:
Anse La Raye vs. Congo Vibes – 5:00 p.m.
– Championship Final:
Micoud Falcons vs. Desruisseaux – 7:00 p.m.
On Sunday, the Main Championship features:
– Third Place Playoff:
Lancers FC vs. All Blacks Dennery – 5:00 p.m.
– Grand Final:
Vieux Fort North vs. VF South / VF CVF United FC
Teams were divided into four groups and proceeded to the Knockout Stages (February 19 and 20), with the following results:
– VF South / CVF United FC vs. Gros Islet Veterans 1-0
– Lancers FC vs. Valley Legends 1-0
– All Blacks Dennery vs. Marchand Veterans 2-1
– VF North vs. Soufriere 1-1 (VF North won 4-3 on penalties)
