Social Agencies Collaborate to Enhance Skills Building Among Youth

The Drug Education and Counseling Services (DECS), in collaboration with the Probation and Parole Service under the Ministry of Home Affairs, Crime Prevention and Persons with Disabilities, recently launched a programme entitled: Youth Empowered and Alive (YEA).

According to Ministry personnel, this initiative aims to foster personal growth and development among young Saint Lucians by providing a safe and supportive environment for socialisation and skill building.

The programme addresses critical issues, such as anti-social behaviour, by promoting healthy lifestyle choices. Through meaningful activities and insightful discussions, young participants are encouraged to develop positive behaviour and skills to support their future success.

DECS urges dedicated volunteers to support this initiative and create a strong impact on the lives of young individuals …

The programme accepts people who are passionate about youth development. While mentoring or counseling experience is beneficial it is not a requirement.

By volunteering, individuals can make a tangible difference in the lives of Saint Lucian youths.
