THE Saint Lucia Aquatic Federation (SLAF) celebrated Saint Lucia’s 46th Independence Anniversary with an exhilarating two-day swim classic at the Rodney Height Aquatic Centre.
The Independence Swim Classic showcased exceptional talent, dedication, and team spirit, featuring fierce competition among six participating clubs.
With 170 swimmers making waves, this event was a true display of athletic prowess. Aptly dubbed “Last Chance for Carifta Aquatic Championship 52 in Trinidad and Tobago,” the competition saw exceptional performances.
The Sharks Swim Club triumphed, dominating the pool with a combined score of 1433 points, including an impressive 736 points from their girls. Seajays Swim Club secured a solid second place with 1001 points, while Lightning Aquatic Swim Club claimed third with 576 points.
RR Aquatic, Southern Flying Fish, and Rodney Heights Aquatic Club followed with 434, 304, and 202 points, respectively.
The Sharks and Seajays tied as High Point winners with three standout performances. Lightning Aquatic contributed two, while RHAC and Southern Flying Fish each had one win.
Individual High Point Champions included:
– 8 & Under Girls: Kayla-Rose Richard – 70 points (RHAC)
– 8 & Under Boys: Keyanno Elibox – 72 points (Sharks)
– 9-10 Girls: Emma Fortune – 48 points (Sharks)
– 9-10 Boys: Miles Andrew – 63 points (Seajays)
– 11-12 Girls: Sapphire Parks – 54 points (Seajays)
– 11-12 Boys: Dylan Corcoran – 47 points (Sharks)
– 13-14 Girls: Amara Reece – 72 points (Lightning Aquatic) – 13-14 Boys: Jayden Xu – 57 points (Seajays)
– 15 & Over Girls: Kaitlyn Holder – 55 points (Southern Flying Fish)
– 15 & Over Boys: Karic Charles – 50 points (Lightning Aquatic)
The SLAF acknowledges the swimmers for their dedication, hard work, and outstanding results. The Sharks Swim Club demonstrated their excellence and training, leaving a significant mark on the competition.
As the SLAF shifts focus from the thrilling Independence Swim Classic, attention now turns to the highly anticipated 52nd Carifta Aquatic Championship in Trinidad and Tobago over the Easter weekend.
With final team selections underway, Saint Lucia is ready to make a splash on the regional stage.
