Saint Lucia Gears Up for 2025 Caribbean Trophy Boxing

Fresh off a stellar third-place finish at the Caribbean Boxing Championship held at the Beausejour Indoor Facility (BIF), the Saint Lucia Boxing Association (SLBA) is setting its sights on another major challenge—the 2025 Caribbean Trophy Boxing Tournament in Guadeloupe.

This prestigious event, hosted at the invitation of the President of the Regional Boxing Committee, will feature three days of intense competition, showcasing the top boxing talent from the French-speaking Caribbean.

Leading Team Saint Lucia is Captain Kyghan Mortley, backed by a strong squad comprising John Didier, Danaii Cooman, Justice Joseph, Kyle Marcel, and Nathan Alex. The team will be under the expert guidance of Head Coach Conrad Fredericks and Senior Coach Yunior Quintero-Perez, with Team Manager Shannon Lebourne and SLBA President David Christopher serving as Head of Delegation.

More than just a quest for medals, this tournament serves as a crucial stepping stone in the SLBA’s long-term preparations for the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. With a well-structured plan in place, expectations are high for another impressive showing on the regional stage.

The team is set to depart for Guadeloupe on Wednesday, March 26, and will return home on Sunday, March 30, 2025, aiming to bring back not just pride, but championship hardware.
