On Sunday, March 2, 2025, at about 8:20 pm, the Department of Road Safety and Accident Investigations received a report of a fatal vehicular collision along Nelson Mandela Drive, Vigie, Castries. The incident resulted in the death of one person.
Officers proceeded to the scene, where they observed a silver motor vehicle embedded in a tree with two male occupants. The vehicle had sustained extensive damage during the collision.
Personnel from the Saint Lucia Fire Service responded to the incident, attended to the occupants, and conveyed them to the Owen King European Union Hospital (OKEU). There, one of the occupants, identified as 39-year-old Sam Emmanuel of Hospital Road, Castries, succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead by a medical practitioner.
The second victim remains in critical condition at the medical facility.
