The Estimates of Revenue and Expenditure for Saint Lucia for the fiscal year 2025/2026 received approval yesterday morning in a closed session of the parliament’s Standing Finance Committee.
Yesterday (Tuesday) approximately at 5:00 p.m., a Sitting of the House of Assembly convened, during which Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Philip J. Pierre, formally presented the approved 2025/2026 Estimates of Revenue and Expenditure Report.
The discussion/debate regarding the Report is scheduled for tomorrow, Thursday, March 27, 2025, and Friday, March 28, commencing at 10:00 a.m. The Leader of the Opposition is anticipated to begin the reply to the Report.
The Finance Minister will present the Appropriations Bill, which acts as the government’s policy statement, on Tuesday, April 22, 2025. The debate regarding the Bill is scheduled for Thursday, April 24, and Friday, April 25, 2025.
Yesterday, the following Motion was scheduled for consideration:
BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Assembly adopt the Report of the Standing Finance Committee on the Estimates of Revenue and Expenditure for the Financial Year 2025/2026, in the sum of Two Billion and Fifty-Seven Million, Five Hundred and Nineteen Thousand, Nine Hundred Dollars ($2,057, 519, 900.00) and do agree that the said sum do form a charge against the Consolidated Fund and other funds of the State of Saint Lucia.
