Saint Lucia’s newest Wellness Centre and Leisure Destination, the A’ILA Resort & Spa, will open in mid-summer this year.

This new addition to Saint Lucia’s tourism profile is expected to increase the island’s appeal to  visitors by providing a wide  range of options centred on enjoyment, business, and well-being.

Once completed, the resort planned to employ over 1,000 locals and be the first in the region to provide the Life Co concept, which promotes holistic well-being while providing a variety of premium amenities.

Major partners are actively pushing the A’ILA Resorts & Spa St. Lucia hotel project as a definitive ‘holistic lifetime experience’ customised to fulfill the different needs of its clients.

Invest Saint Lucia is assisting with the construction of this project in partnership with the government. Construction is said to be progressing quickly.

The development agreement was signed in late 2023, and the sod-turning ceremony occurred in May 2024. As the resort’s several phases advance, over 200 Saint Lucians are now employed in a variety of positions.

The Life Co, a worldwide wellness corporation, is on schedule to open it in mid-2025. Foundation construction is now ongoing for the A’ILA Palm Family Hotel and A’ILA Cove, a couples-only resort set to open in 2026. The fully developed Reduit Beach Park will have beach access, designated parking, a playground, picnic and BBQ places, changing rooms, showers, retail spaces, and a fishery. Following DCA clearance, development of the park is scheduled to begin this year.

Candy Nicholas, A’ILA Resorts & Spa’s Public Relations and Communications Officer, recently provided a report on ongoing developments at the property site in Mt Pimard, Reduit.

Nicholas described the project as a multi-concept development, highlighting A’ILA Resorts’ wide health, well-being, economic, and pleasure offers.

“We are very excited about the Life Co., which is our premier Wellness offering …and we are diligently working to ensure its opening this summer,” Nicholas declared

The hotel project is built on the former Caribbean Jewels estate, which has an excellent view of the ocean and its transparent waters below.

According to the A’ILA resort, “The Life Wellness Centre, established in 2005, is the first Wellness and Detox Centre in Turkey (with two hotels), Thailand, and is now the first facility on this side of the Western hemisphere. This is particularly exciting given that global Wellness Tourism is valued at $651 billion annually and is projected to grow by 16.6% per year on average until 2027.”

Saint Lucia has established itself as a renowned “Wellness Destination,” bolstered by attractions such as the Sulphur Springs, which will help to construct Wellness Resorts and integrate independent wellness spas.

The A’ILA project will include A’ILA Palm, a 153-room family resort with eco-friendly facilities and suites decorated with local art.

– Blue Zones Retail Centre: A community hub with a focus on plant-based nutrition and sustainability.

– A’ILA Real Centre combines luxury and social connection, with responsible retailers.

– A’ILA Spa provides cutting-edge facilities that combine scientific and holistic treatments with traditional healing approaches.

– A’ILA Cove: An exclusive haven for adults looking for a break from everyday life, complete with personalised services.

– A’ILA Real Estate: We offer single-family homes, Sunset homes, holiday homes, and Blue Zone dwellings.

– Seven Wonders Villa: Designed to provide solitude and unique living experiences.

– Zenith Conference, Art, and Entertainment Centre: Can accommodate 2,000 people.

– Beach Bar and Boardwalk: Designed for locals and families, with needed amenities.

Addressing environmental concerns, Tourism Minister Dr Ernest Hilaire told reporters Thursday that the site’s historical features, including a former US Armoury, water tanks, and hiking routes, would be preserved.

“In discussions with the developer, we emphasised the importance of safeguarding these artefacts for future generations,”  Dr Hilaire said.
