2025 National Sports Awards Tonight!

SAINT Lucia’s best sportsmen and women will be honoured tonight at the 43rd National Sports Awards ceremony scheduled for the pavilion at Rodney Bay.

Hosted by the Ministry of Youth Development and Sports tonight’s ceremony is a mainstay on the Independence calendar. The nominees for the various titles were nominated by their respective national associations and federations.

Additionally, individuals and teams who have significantly contributed to the development of sports over the past year will be recognized.

Fifteen associations and federations have submitted nominees, including the Saint Lucia Athletics Association, Saint Lucia National Cricket Association, Saint Lucia Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation, Saint Lucia Aquatics Federation, Saint Lucia Table Tennis Association, Saint Lucia Volleyball Federation, Saint Lucia Special Olympics, Saint Lucia Darts Association, Saint Lucia Tennis Association, Saint Lucia Basketball Federation, Saint Lucia Boxing Association, Saint Lucia Sailing Association, Netball Saint Lucia, and Saint Lucia Football Association.

Nominees for the prestigious awards have been shortlisted, and the selectees for the four major categories are as follows: 

Junior Sportswoman of the Year Nominees:

– Fayth Jeffrey (Swimming)

– Selena Ross (Cricket)

– Naya Jules (Athletics)

Junior Sportsman of the Year Nominees:

 – Tarrique Edward (Cricket)

– Antoine Destang (Swimming)

– D’Andre Calderon (Table Tennis)

Sportswoman of the Year Nominees:

– Julien Alfred (Athletics)

– Kerin Neptune (Volleyball)

– Qiana Joseph (Cricket)

Sportsman of the Year Nominees:

– Jayhan Odlum-Smith (Swimming)

– Luc Chevrier (Sailing)

– Vino Barclett (Football)

– Michael Joseph (Athletics)

– Johnson Charles (Cricket)

This year’s awards ceremony is not just a celebration of these remarkable athletes; it’s a testament to the dedication and hard work that characterize the sports community in Saint Lucia.
