After weeks of industrial relations discussions between the Management of Goddard Catering Group (GCG) and the National Workers Union (NWU), Labour Commissioner Joseph Joseph has recommended a fifteen percent general wage increase to the Company and the Union.
This recommendation was accepted by both parties thereby making it possible for the workers to benefit from that general wage increase spread over three years at five percent each year.
The employees who are based in the company’s airline operations in Vieux Fort will also enjoy a back pay, increases in Meal Allowances as well as a Shift Allowance for abnormal working hours.
All arrangements are being made by the Department of Labour to have the conclusions of these discussions put into effect shortly.
