AT the World Swimming Championships, which are currently happening in Hungary, Saint Lucian Ethan Hazell did an amazing job in his first race.

Hazell set a new personal best in the 50-meter butterfly during the qualifying rounds on Tuesday. He is only 17 years old and swam in Lane 2.

Hazell ended with an impressive time of 23.36 seconds, which was three seconds faster than his previous best of 27.23 seconds. He did not make it to the next round, though. This accomplishment is even more impressive because it was his first time taking part in such a prestigious event.

John McLennon, Hazell’s coach, is very proud of how well the youngster has done. “Ethan Hazell’s unwavering dedication to swimming, his club, and his coaching staff is evident in every stroke,” he said. Even though it was his first World Championship, he swam with amazing energy and drive.

McLennon stressed that even though Ethan didn’t make it to the finals in the 50m butterfly, his personal best time of 23.36 seconds shows a lot of progress.

“This is just the beginning of his World Championship journey in the 25m pool, and we are eager to see him compete again on Saturday in the 50m freestyle!” he added.

Hazell is without a doubt a growing star with a bright future. As a child, he was an athlete in many sports. He has competed for Saint Lucia in many events, such as the OECS Swimming Championships and the CARIFTA Aquatics Championships, and has always shown off his great skills.

He recently helped Saint Lucia win seven medals at the CARIFTA Aquatics Championships, which shows that the country is becoming more well-known in the world of professional swimming.

The most recent things Hazell has done show how determined and talented Saint Lucia’s young athletes are on both the regional and worldwide levels.

People are excited to see Hazell race in the 50-meter freestyle on Saturday. They think he will do even better than last time.

Hazell is one of two swimmers from Saint Lucia competing at the Swimming Championships in Hungary. The other is Naekeisha Louis, who swam the 100-meter freestyle on December 11 and will swim the 50-meter freestyle today.

Head Coach John McLennon and Team Manager Tessa Charles-Louis are with the two-person team. The group left on December 6 and will be back on December 17.
