THE Dujon Foundation, presently supporting communities in Saint Lucia, is registered as a non-profit organization in both Saint Lucia and the United States of America. The foundation in Saint Lucia was officially registered in April 2024.
The President of the foundation is Mr. Shirlon Dujon, a Saint Lucian living in the United States of America.
The Dujon Foundation envisions stronger communities by equipping residents in underprivileged areas with essential resources for education, development, and employment opportunities.
The foundation’s mission is to create resource centres in low-income communities, empowering residents to achieve their full academic and professional potential.
The Dujon Foundation office is located in West Hartford, Connecticut, USA.
The Board of Directors consists of 11 members, comprising 6 individuals from the diaspora, 3 Americans, and 3 St. Lucians.
The foundation operates with an individual in charge of marketing, another overseeing events, and a separate person dedicated to writing grants, and it is supported by a board of directors.
The Dujon Foundation has supported various communities in St. Lucia by providing school uniform vouchers for the Bishop Charles Gachet Primary School, supplying building materials to a family who lost their home to a fire in Marchand, organizing a “Bring a Bowl” drive in Marchand where children brought bowls to receive free food in collaboration with the Oaks Restaurant, and conducting a laptop drive for several secondary school students.
The Marchand Sacred Hart Parish Summer School 2024 successfully received support from the foundation.
The Summer School committee has arranged a summer programme for the youth of the parish for 15 years. The Summer School offers a variety of activities, including Arts and Craft, Fine Arts, Cookery, Communication Skills, and Dance, with a particular focus on local dances.
Just before the programme began in early August, the Summer School committee reached out to Mr. Shirlon Dujon, the President of the Dujon Foundation, to request assistance for the programme.
Mr. Dujon promptly responded and sent four laptop computers to be awarded to the outstanding performers of the Summer School programme, 2024.
Certainly, the computers were distributed to deserving students currently enrolled at the Sir Arthur Lewis Community College and various Secondary Schools in Saint Lucia.
The donation of laptop computers has undoubtedly aligned with the foundation’s vision regarding the provision of educational resources.
The Summer School Committee extends its gratitude and congratulations to the Dujon Foundation for their generous donation of laptops. We also wish the Dujon Foundation ongoing success in its mission to support communities in Saint Lucia and the diaspora.
