TEAM Saint Lucia aced it at the Eastern Caribbean Golf Amateur Championship in Antigua with the Senior men clinching the top prize and Eugene Edwin coming out as the individual Senior Gross Champion.
The Championship was hosted in Antigua from 5 to 6 October, 2024. Participating countries were Barbados, St. Croix, Martinique, St. Martin, St. Kitts and Nevis, Anguilla, Saint Lucia and host country Antigua.
It was a successful event for Saint Lucia which secured a number of awards with a team of thirteen golfers in the following categories:
- Men – 4 players Nicolas Beaubrun, Harith Khan, Romanus Inglis and Keymanie Thomas.
- Women – 3 players namely, Sophia Maria Groenewald, Debra Burdon Catherine Spooner
- Senior Men – 3 players Terry Verdant, Timothy Mangal (Captain) and Eugene Edwin.
- Super Senior Men– 2 players, David March and McHale Andrew
- President: Mario Reyes
The team secured the 1st Team Net Award while the Saint Lucia Senior Men won the top prize of 1st Gross and Eugene Edwin winning the individual Senior Gross Champion.
The Ladies team placed second Gross with Catherine Spooner securing second place Net.
