SPFL Playoffs Underway this Weekend in Dennery

THIS season’s inaugural Saint Lucia Semi-Professional Football League [SPFL] playoffs get underway this weekend, with some highly anticipated matchups between the top teams in Tier 1 and Tier 2.

Today (Saturday), the action kicks off at the Dennery Playing Field with an exciting double-header. In Tier 2, Anse La Raye takes on South Castries in a western valley derby, and at 6.30 p.m., Central Castries plays against Gros Islet.

The teams have undergone extensive preparations to reach the qualifiers. Despite some setbacks encountered along the way, the technical units have expressed their respective team’s enthusiasm and determination to take on the challenge ahead.

On Sunday, the contest features another keenly anticipated double-header challenge.  In Tier 2 – Roseau Valley vs. Vieux Fort South; while in Tier 1 – home team Dennery comes up against La Clery.

With the stakes high, as teams vie for finalist spots, the SPFL organisers declared: “ It’s more than just a game-it’s a battle for glory. Let’s make it unforgettable together! Leveraging football to transform lives….”.

The SPFL challenge continues next weekend, with the semi-finals  and the final is scheduled for October 26.

The organisers report that preparations have been in full swing at the Dennery Playing Field, with the district league officials, sponsors, influencers and service providers working assiduously to ensure a safe and vibrant atmosphere for fans and supporters.
