The Saint Lucia Football Association (SLFA) Inc. Group C Senior Men Football competition continued at the Anse La Raye Playing Field last week. CT Foundation triumphed over T Valley with a 3-1 victory. The goals for CT Foundation were scored by Sherman St. Ange (21’), Curtis Edward (28’), and Edd Fred (76’). Josh Harrow netted the lone goal for T Valley in the 43rd minute.
Meanwhile, the SLFA’s Under 12 Boys Primary Schools District Championship, in collaboration with the Ministry of Sports, kicked off last Saturday, September 28th, at the Corinth Playing Field and the SLFA Technical Centre in Mabouya Valley. All 19 Football Districts have registered to participate.
At the Grand Riviere Technical Centre, the Dennery Football League U-12 team secured a 3-1 victory over the Mon Repos Football League, with goals from Aiden Biscette (18’), B. Henry (34’), and an own goal in the 50th minute. In another match, Choiseul edged out Micoud 1-0, thanks to a goal from O. Montoute in the 15th minute.
At the Corinth Playing Field, Canaries defeated South Castries 2-0, with Kendal Alain scoring a penalty in the 56th minute and an own goal contributing to the final score.
In other updates, after completing the preliminary rounds of the La Clery Football League’s Hon. Stephenson King Football Tournament, four clubs have emerged as top contenders for the semifinals. Radics United FC currently leads the points standings, followed by La Clery Youth, Active Strikers FC, and Bel Jou Hotel.
The semifinals are scheduled for this weekend, October 5th and 6th, at the La Clery playing field, starting at 4:00 p.m. The fixtures are as follows:
• Saturday: La Clery Youth vs. Active Strikers FC
• Sunday: Radics United FC vs. Bel Jou
The finals are set for Sunday, October 13th.
