The Saint Lucia Red Cross (SLRC) is proud to unveil a groundbreaking initiative aimed at reducing crime by addressing the root causes of conflict in our communities. The newly established Conflict Resolution and Legal Facility seeks to promote peaceful solutions through community engagement and the provision of mediation legal services.
This flagship initiative, part of SLRC’s jubilee year, represents our commitment to fostering peace and social cohesion in Saint Lucia. The need for such a service has become urgent in light of the alarming rise in crime, which is often fueled by unresolved disputes. By partnering with trained mediators and lawyers, SLRC is making conflict resolution services more accessible to the public.
Whilst the Conflict Resolution and Legal Service Facility is set to be fully operational on October 20th, 2024, we invite the public to join us on Saturday October 12th, 2024, at the Gros Islet Human Resource Development Center from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. for a Community Service Open Day. During this free event members of the public will get to engage in feature workshops, demonstrations, and interactive activities designed to educate attendees about the Conflict Resolution and Legal Service Facility and how it can benefit them.
Come and be part of this special family day as we demonstrate how peaceful resolutions can be achieved in our communities. Engage with mediators, participate in practical conflict resolution exercises, and learn how this service can help you, your family, and your community thrive.
We look forward to welcoming everyone to the Open Day as we take a proactive step toward building a more harmonious Saint Lucia.
Together, let’s foster peace through dialogue, engagement, and community action.
