On Thursday, September 26, at about 8:10 pm, the Gros-Islet Police Station received and responded to a report of a homicide at Monier, located in Gros-Islet. This incident claimed the life of a 24-year-old female.
Officers from the Babonneau and Gros-Islet Police Stations attended the scene. The deceased was discovered unresponsive inside a structure. A preliminary examination of her body revealed multiple apparent stab wounds. A medical doctor was called to the scene and confirmed her death at the location.
The victim has been identified as Sofia Gabriela Munoz Pocon, a 24-year-old Guatemalan national. A male suspect is currently in custody in connection with the homicide.
