The latest batch of newly trained correctional officers has been advised by the Honourable Jeremiah Norbert, Minister for Home Affairs, Crime Prevention and Persons with Disabilities, to avoid the temptations that are certain to await them as they proceed in their professional lives.
“If you remember nothing of what I said here this afternoon, remember the words integrity and professionalism. Do not, do not, do not compromise your integrity or your professionalism for absolutely anything or anyone,” Norbert said in his remarks at the graduation ceremony on October 18, 2024.
The Minister also reminded the Class of 2023 – 2024 that it is not an easy profession to work in corrections, and that the integrity of correctional officers is frequently put to the test by the offenders. Minister Norbert emphatically warned them against falling prey to such schemes.
