This summer, the Ministry of Equity, Social Justice, and Empowerment proudly welcomed students as part of the government’s annual internship programme. Jadell Edmunds, a psychology student from the University of the West Indies, collaborated with the Welfare Unit. She discovered the Ministry’s wide range of services and was impressed by staff’s strong communication and collaboration, according to a press release from the Ministry.

Yannick Fontaine, a St. Mary’s College student interested in business studies, enjoyed learning about the research unit and was introduced to exciting new initiatives with Faith-Based Organizations on the island. Khadijah Alexander, a Castries Comprehensive Secondary School student interested in accounting and finance, was inspired by the team’s welcoming environment and exceptional work ethic.

And Amelia Cumberbatch, a student at the Corinth Secondary School, interested in accounting, was introduced to developing monitoring and evaluation tools in the Community Development Unit for the Community After-School Programme.
