SAINT Lucia’s Senior Men’s National Football team is set to leave the island today (Saturday), for Barbados, to participate in the first leg of the FIFA 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

The squad underwent an intensive training regime as they prepare to compete and make a bid to qualify for the World Cup.

Team Saint Lucia opens its campaign on June 6, playing against Haiti, and will follow up with a match versus Aruba, on June 11.

The team is as follows:

Goal Keepers – Vino Barclett, Anton Richard, Giovanni Deterville,

Defenders – Alvinus Myers, Melville Doxilly, Kurt Fredrick, Cheye Alexander (England pro-player), Sebastien Ribot, Joshua Solomon Davies (England) Terell Thomas – Capt. (England), and Dante Fitz

Midfielders- Brendan Sandiford, Caniggia Elva (Germany), Ridel Stanislaus, Leaus Henville, Lester Joseph, Peter Pearson (USA), Shaquan Nelson, and Sherman Augustin.

Forwards – Celestine Theodore (USA), Aaron Richard, Donavan Phillip (USA), and Baggio Edward.

Notably, according to an SLFA spokesperson, since Barbados will serve as Saint Lucia’s Home venue, the SLFA’s Asst. General Secretary and Match Commissioner Evastus Augustin will travel to Barbados with the team to oversee logistics.

Meanwhile, the SLFA Inc’s upcoming 38th Ordinary Congress is scheduled to take place at the Bay Gardens Hotel in Rodney Bay, Gros Islet on Saturday, 8th June.

The Congress will receive reports from the Executive Committee for its consideration and approval.

Each Member League is entitled to be represented by a maximum of two persons at the Congress.

In other updates, the Match Commissioner’s Course will be held from May 31 to June 1.

The SLFA held an opening ceremony on Friday , at its base to apprise participants on the particulars for the workshop.

A total of 10 Match Commissioners will attend the workshop to be held at the SLFA’s base in La Clery.
