The Ministry of Youth Development and Sports is set to host the 2024 Inter District Primary School Football Competition from June 4th to14th at two venues.
Group A matches will be contested at the Corinth Playing Field and Group B at the Grande Riviere, Dennery Field.
Eight education district teams are down to participate in this year’s competition.
The teams are divided into:
Group A – 1. District One 2. District Two 3. District Three 4. District Four.
Group B – 1. District Five 2. District Six 3. District Seven 4. District Eight.
Conditions of Play
The competition will be governed by the rules of FIFA; games will be played 9-a-side using hockey goal (size 6m x 2m); games will be 45-minute duration 2x 20 min. halves with a 5-min. halftime interval); teams are allowed unlimited substitutions during a game. All players in uniform should get game time.
Teams will be placed into 2 groups (8 teams registered).
At the end of the preliminary round, the two top teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals and finals.
During the knock-out stages if a match ends in a draw, a penalty shootout will determine the result (Penalty 9m); teams will be required to register a maximum of 20 players for this competition.
Points system: Win = 5 points, Draw = 2 points each, Loss/Forfeit = 0 point.
Meanwhile, the competition kicked off yesterday (Tuesday), at the Corinth Playing Field with District 1 vs. District 4 and District 2 vs. District 3, while the Grand Riviere, Dennery Playing Field featured District 5 vs. District 8 and District 6 vs. District 7.
The competition continues tomorrow (Thursday), at the Corinth Playing Field with District 1 vs. District 2 and District 3 vs. District 4, while the Grand Riviere, (Dennery)playing field will feature District 3 vs. District 4, District 5 vs. District 6 and District 7 vs. District 8.
