On 8th June 2024, Dr David Brathwaite (Consultant Urologist) and his surgical team performed the first successful flexible ureteroscopy and laser stone fragmentation on island. This new technology expands the surgical options available to patients for urolithiasis (stones within the urinary tract eg. kidney, ureteral and bladder stones).
It offers fast recovery and is a suitable treatment option in appropriate cases of urolithiasis. The team extends Special thanks to Dr Paul Rouse (Consultant Urologist , Barbados) for his efforts in making this new service a reality.
