AS part of Business Month celebrations, the Ministry of Commerce highlighted a number of businesses this week that, not only have withstood the test of time, but managed to remain successful over the years.
These businesses (all 50 years and older) were recognized at a church service in La Clery on Thursday (including this establishment) and were presented with tokens of appreciation.
Minister for Commerce Emma Hippolyte noted that their contributions have been nothing short of invaluable and thanked the following companies (The VOICE Publishing Company, Ferrands Food Products, 1st National Bank, Carasco and Son, M&C Group of Companies, JQ Charles Group of Companies, Peter and Company Distribution, Valmont and Company, Cox and Company, Clarke and Company and Renwick and Company) for their service.
Business Month which was initially launched in 2015 “is the brainchild of Hippolyte… we are very happy to recognize our business pioneers. This is the first church service hosted during Business Month,” Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Commerce, Sophia Alfay-Henry said.
Hippoyte, for her part, added that “The Ministry of Commerce in collaboration with the various ministries of government (are) all working together to serve the business community.”
“To our young persons, especially the beneficiaries of the Youth Economy, remember we are also there to serve you. Start small and we will hold your hand. The Ministry of Commerce (is located) on the Waterfront, come in, we have a team of men and women who are excited to serve you,” Hippolyte said.
