CONSTRUCTION continues to move along steadily at the Courtyard by Marriott brand hotel currently underway at Pointe Seraphine Castries, with completion slated for 2025.
Invest Saint Lucia has been facilitating this major investment from the start, by making the land available for development, working with the investor to obtain incentives and liaising on legal matters to ensure that the project takes off seamlessly.
Marriott is one of the largest globally recognized hotel brands. Senior Manager for Investments Alana Lansiquot said the addition of the Marriott brand to Saint Luciaโs offerings stands to offer significant benefits.
The hotel is being constructed as a nine-storey tower with facilities which will include 140 rooms and suites, a conference centre and meeting rooms, a swimming pool, a fitness centre, food and beverage outlets.
Upon completion, it will be managed and marketed by Marriott International Inc. under the Courtyard by Marriott brand. This brand is a mid-priced range of hotels designed for business travellers but also accommodates families. The developer behind the project explains the strategic decision to explore this specific niche.
The progress of this project is a sure signal that investment continues to take shape in Saint Lucia, with the Marriott hotel expected to breathe new life into the capital city.
CEO of Invest Saint Lucia, Octavian Charles believes this project will contribute significantly to the revitalization of Castries.
Currently, the project is in phase one which involves construction of the foundation and frame of the building. With construction moving along at a steady pace, the developer expects completion of the upper structure in 2024, with the opening of the hotel scheduled for 2025.
