ACCLAIMED Saint Lucia film Shantaye’s World is currently being shown in the United Kingdom in selected theatres as part of Black History Month.
The film produced by Mathurine Emmanuel features romance, drama, and the culture of Saint Lucia.
Themes from the Windrush era featured prominently as thousands of Caribbean people migrated in large numbers to the United Kingdom.
Shantaye’s World was celebrated by the Saint Lucian and Caribbean Diaspora for its depiction of the real essence of Saint Lucia folklife and appreciated by British audiences for its portrayal of Caribbean life and the struggles of everyday life.

One screening of Shantaye’s World took place at the Rio Cinema in London where it was celebrated with much acclaim.
