THE Leadership of the National Workers Union (NWU) has submitted a regime of industrial relations provisions that will form part of a new round of negotiations between the NWU and the Government of Saint Lucia.
The negotiations which will be conducted on behalf of all daily paid and non-establishment employees with the government, will this time be approached differently. Each ministry, represented by the NWU, will be handled separately so as to give all workers an opportunity to be heard and their issues channeled in a more democratic setting.
Upon conclusion of the negotiations, it is expected that an equitable level of standardization, new rates of pay, a general wage increase and upward adjustments in allowances and other economic benefits will form the core of the new industrial relations accord. That agreement will be for the triennium spanning April 2022 to March 2025.
The NWU looks forward to an early conclusion of the industrial talks.
