Team 758 heads to USA for Vital Training Camp

A squad of 24 players on the Saint Lucia Senior Men’s National football team left the island yesterday to undergo an intensive 12-day camp in the USA in preparation for the crucial upcoming Gold Cup encounter against Martinique.

Team Saint Lucia is due to take on Martinique, on June 16 in a CONCACAF Gold Cup – Preliminary Round match at the Inter Miami CF Stadium, Fort Lauderdale, USA. The match is scheduled to begin at 7.00p.m.

The training camp is being facilitated by the United Soccer Academy with support from the Saint Lucia Football Association [SLFA] Inc. executive and technical staff.

The camp will be held at Gardens North County District Park, Palm Beach County, USA where the players will be exposed to one of the top training facilities in Florida. The facility features 10 highly illuminated Bermuda Grass multi-purpose playing fields designed to meet FIFA’s regulations and standards for top ranked practice matches.

Team 758 are expected to play several practice matches as part of a vigorous training regime as they prepare to face their French island neighbour in this opening round away game.
