After an exciting semi-final Sunday evening at the National Cultural Centre, nine calypsonians have been selected to advance to the finals of the National Calypso Monarch Competition scheduled for Saturday, July 8 at the SAAB Vigie.

But although Walleigh secured a spot in the finals he will not make an appearance. THE VOICE has learned that due to commitments overseas he will be absent come the night of the competition. This has open up a spot for another performer to fill who happens to be the one who came tenth in the semi-finals. That person happens to be Herb Black.
