Bays FC topped the tables in the SLFA Inc. Div. II competition with an emphatic 4-nil win over the National Under-17 team, in a match played at the Soufriere Mini Stadium, Monday.
Mc. Zerous Nicholas scored a brace with goals in the 9th and 3rd minutes of added on time in the first half, while Kacy Henry and Glen St. John netted in the 29th and 62nd minutes respectively.
With the victory, Bays cemented its place at the top of the table with 22 points as the unofficial champions.
1987 All Stars also finished their schedule and are second with 20 points, with Black Panthers and Piton Travel Piton Young Stars coming in third and fourth respectively with 12 points each and a game in hand.
In the Div. I league, Monchy FC beat Uptown Rebels 3-2 in a hard fought and exciting match to complete their schedule.
For Monchy, Aramis Gilbert got a brace with goals in the 6th and 22nd minutes and Jahlil Evans in the 3rd minute. Donavan Jn. Baptiste also got a brace for Uptown with goals in the 9th and 3rd minutes of added on time.
According to an SLFA official, the victory momentarily places the two teams at the top of the Leader board with 20 points, followed by B 1 FC and defending champions Platinum on 19 and 18 points respectively, both with a game in hand. Uptown Rebels with 14 points sits in fourth position followed by VSADC also with 14 points. Both teams have concluded their schedule.
Meanwhile, matches will continue today (Wednesday 7th September 2022) at the Soufriere Playing Field in the Div. II competition.
· National Under-17 vs. Black Panthers FC – 6:15 pm, while
· Diamond Ballers FC takes on Lancers FC – 8:00 p.m.
