Why is the world so confused and why is there so much anxiety? Some will claim it is a sign of the end and we are living in prophetic times. President Putin is rapidly turning up the heat among world leaders. It is very frustrating to say the least. It takes all the resolve that persons can muster to cope with these times of uncertainty. Things are definitely not normal and it seems that we have come to a place where we have to rely on divine intervention.
To live in an environment of some clarity, you have to remove yourself from what is happening in the world and focus on your own plans. Some persons have stopped looking at the news and refuse to participate in political debates of the day claiming that these things depress them. I do not feel this is the way to go even if you feel powerless in the overall scheme of things. My solution is to keep on top of the situation and let your views be known.
It is time for America to lead and the stalemate between the Republicans and the Democrats is not helping the world. Discord among members of the House and Senate is rife as the world looks on and the Republicans are having a field day with their disruptive approach to governance. President Biden has to move his agenda along with a new type of democracy which necessitates EXPEDIENCY. Waiting to see how things will play out by allowing the democratic process to take its course is not the way the politics of the day is playing out. The tactics that are being applied by the GOP is based on stalling every move that will assist to bring clarity to the role of government and the support for programmes that will benefit the people. What is interesting to note however, is the base of the GOP is expanding in some instances with the help of Democrats like Senator Joe Manchin, who just this week voted with Republicans in the Senate to block expansion of the Abortion Rights Bill.
The indications are not looking good for Democrats in the midterm elections which are just six months away. It will be a November to remember. The results of the midterm will predict the future of America. You don’t have to be a fortune teller to realise that a win in the House and Senate for the GOP is a return of Donald Trump to the White House in 2024.
The cries of Abortion Rights Activists, Black Lives Matter Activists and those rallying against police brutality are almost going unheard. The Republicans are beginning to feel confident. There is nothing that the Democrats are doing that seems to be getting any traction that will change the direction to where things are supposed to be politically at this time.
Ukraine is becoming a nightmare as President Putin introduced hypersonic missiles in the current war which he plans to win regardless of the cost. Then, there is INFLATION in the USA. Gasoline prices are hitting the roof. COVID 19 is not going away. Americans are becoming impatient. President Biden is simply not in a good place at this time.
Whatever chaos is developing around the world in general, and especially in the United States of America, Saint Lucia will eventually be drawn into the situation. Many will claim that we are already marching to the drum beat of INFLATION. There needs to be an active debate on how we plan to feed ourselves should the situation worsens. I am not talking here about Food Security in the manner we have been talking about this topic for many years but rather, how we will feed ourselves should the supply chain collapse. Many of us live our lives without any real plan to deal with surprises that may come our way, thinking it will be alright in the morning.
Do not let your guard down. By now we are all aware what can be done to reduce chances of catching the virus. Stay Healthy, Stay Safe, Stay in your section. Don’t do anything that is likely to cause you suffering. COVID 19 is very much active among us. Continue to adhere to the protocols. Blessings!
