For months now, Cocky had been occupying a seat in the passenger lounge. In the afternoon of Monday February 14, 2022 his journey on this earth came to an unexpected end.

Cocky was a Co-Founder Comrade of the National Workers Union (NWU). When the organization was launched in August 1973, Cocky was on the front line and served the organization as the first Finance Officer for a number of years. In the latter years, he served as Maintenance/Office Assistant.

In all the early struggles undertaken by the NWU, Cocky made time to be around encouraging workers, whether on silent or vocal protest or on strike. Cocky was visible on that protest line quietly encouraging and supporting NWU members who had taken action to defend and protect their interests.

Cocky will always be remembered for his workload in the NWU. Whatever dues payments he collected on behalf of the NWU in these early years, he stored in a small vault at his home.  He would be seen in the bank on a Monday morning depositing $50.00-$100.00 in dues payments on behalf of the NWU. He is renowned for his thriftiness, resourcefulness and guidance as well as his friendly personality.

Cocky was indeed an asset to the NWU and the Labour Movement. As a friend he will be sorely missed. Rest in Peace COCKY.
