Saint Lucia Records 66 New Cases of Covid-19

PRESS RELEASE — The Ministry of Health, Wellness and Elderly Affairs late Saturday February 19, 2022 received confirmation of a total of 66 new cases of COVID-19. These samples were processed on Friday February 18, 2022 from a total of 506 samples of which 400 samples were from the Ezra Long Laboratory and 106 samples from the Laboratory Services and Consultations Limited. These samples were collected on February 17, 2022 and February 18, 2022. This number of positive cases makes up 13.04% of all the samples processed on that date. These new cases bring the total number of cases diagnosed in country to date to 22, 534.

Confirmation was also received of the recovery of 80 individuals diagnosed with COVID-19. This brings the number of active cases in country to date to 1, 048. Currently, there are 23 positive cases of COVID-19 admitted at the Respiratory Hospital and one of them is critically ill and one is severely ill.

To date, a total of 52, 085 individuals have been fully vaccinated. Another 5, 733 are partially vaccinated and 6, 660 have received their booster shot.

Vaccination will resume tomorrow Monday February 21, 2022 at the Soufriere Hospital and the Vigie Sports Complex from 9am to 4pm.
