St Lucia recorded another homicide on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 after a man was shot multiple times at Odlum City, Bois Patat.
The deceased identified as 61-year-old, Joseph Lovence alias “Baldhead”, appeared to have been shot in the head and died in his dwelling.
Neighbours recalled hearing the sound of multiple gunshots in the morning but couldn’t point to any specific motive as to why Lovence was targeted and killed in such a horrific manner.
His brother, Vincent Valence confirmed that Lovence was barely able to provide for himself and was practically confined to his home as he suffered from COPD.
A morbid photo of the deceased spread like wildfire across social media and messaging platforms, confirming the fears of neighbours who had heard the echoes of the shots being fired.
Police cordoned off the home of the victim as investigations into the island’s seventh homicide continued well into the afternoon.
