Police have charged one man in connection with the death of his mother.
53-year-old Lenny Augustin, a construction worker by profession was arrested and charged for the death of his mother, Florence Augustin.
The victim, a 70-year-old of Jacmel, was found unresponsive in her home with violent marks about her body.
She would be pronounced dead by a pathologist who arrived on the scene and her cause of death was subsequently ruled to be strangulation.
Augustin became the island’s last homicide victim in 2021, registering at a staggering 75.
