Saint Lucia records 6 new cases of COVID-19

On Monday June 28, 2021 the Ministry of Health and Wellness received confirmation of 6 new cases of COVID-19 from the Ezra Long Laboratory. This is from a batch of 95 samples taken during the period June 25, 2021 to June 27, 2021 and were processed on June 27, 2021.

These newly diagnosed individuals were seen at various community respiratory clinics where they were assessed and tested for COVID-19. While awaiting the results of their COVID-19 test, they were each placed in-home quarantine.

The Ministry of Health has since made arrangements to place these new cases in isolation. The contact tracing for these individuals is underway.

Confirmation was also received of the recovery of 10 individuals bringing the total number of active
cases in the country to date to 84. At present, two of the active cases are requiring critical care at the
Respiratory Hospital.

The new cases bring the total number of cases diagnosed in country to date to 5284.
