A 17-year-old boy is now facing murder charges for the death of a 35-year-old woman whose lifeless body was found inside her home.
According to reports, in February of this year, the victim was found with stab wounds about her body, prompting much public outcry and finger-pointing.
After several months of dead-end leads, Guadeloupe police finally made headway after DNA evidence pointed them in the direction of a 17-year-old boy.
Neighbourhood rumours had originally placed the blame on the victim’s husband, however, the island’s public prosecutor, Patrick Desjardins, affirmed that a motive for the gruesome murder was not yet known while confirming that the suspect was the deceased’s neighbour.
