Three South Castries Cricketers To Play In The UK

THREE South Castries cricket all-rounders left the island on Sunday 12th March 2021 for the United Kingdom where they will be representing three different clubs in three different cricket leagues over the next five months.

Kester Charlemagne who has represented the island at the youth and senior level will be engaged with Marlow CC in the Thomas Valley Cricket League. There he will join up with former Saint Lucia and Windward Islands middle order batsman Sergio Fedee.

Alex Antoine – MVP of the Saint Lucia National Cricket Association inaugural Dream X1 T10 tournament played last year, will be heading to St. Helen Town CC in the Liverpool Division 1.

Antoine has also represented the island at the youth and senior levels as well as Central Sports in the Trinidad Premier League (TPL).

Tonius Simon also represented the island at the youth and senior levels as well as the Windward Islands Under 19 team. Simon who was part of the Saint Lucia Zouks training set up in 2014 has been the most consistent South Castries batsman and by extension in the national cricket competitions for the last three years. Simon will be heading to one of the northern leagues.

West Indies player Johnson Charles, who is also a Captain of the South Castries Cricket Team (SCCT) wished the players well and indicated that he was proud of this development.

Charles who played 48 ODIs and 34 T20 International matches for the West Indies also encouraged the three players from SCCT to seized the opportunity given to them to develop their game and move themselves forward.
