Saint Lucia Reports No New Cases of COVID-19

Today Tuesday April 20, 2021 the Ministry of Health and Wellness reports no new cases of C OVID-19 from a batch of 119 samples taken during the period April 17, 2021 to April 19, 2021. These samples were processed on April 19, 2021.

The Ministry of Health also received confirmation of the recovery of 5 individuals diagnosed with COVID-19 bringing the total number of active cases in country to date to 80. Presently, one of the active cases is requiring critical care at the Respiratory Hospital. The total number of COVID-19 cases diagnosed in country to date is 4419.

As of yesterday April 19, 2021 a total of 23,733 individuals have received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine and 57 individuals have received the second dose. Everyone interested in getting vaccinated are encouraged to pre-register ahead of time via the online platform https://hmi.govt.lc/ or at the Community Wellness Centre nearest to you.

The Ministry of Health reminds everyone to be mindful of the importance of practicing the infection prevention and control guidelines to reduce the spread of the COVID-19 virus. These include hand hygiene, use of a face mask in public covering the mouth, nose and chin, maintaining a distance from others and use a bleach solution to sanitize frequently touched surfaces and handled objects. If you are experiencing flu-like symptoms, keep away from others and seek medical care at your closest community respiratory clinic.
