Solidarity needed to win Covid-19 fight says UWP Women

The National Women’s Arm of the United Workers Party expresses sincere admiration for the incredible work that the Prime Minister and his team continue to do. We applaud the collaborative and inclusive approach taken by the Prime Minister Honourable Allen M. Chastanet in his address to the nation on Tuesday, February 2, 2021. We fully support and endorse the various measures implemented to ensure the safety of our nation.

We were pleased that the Leader of the Opposition lent his support to the government’s efforts to curb the spread of the deadly coronavirus, which has already claimed the lives of Eighteen (18) Saint Lucians. We extend our sincere condolences to their families.

We wish to commend the Minister of Education and Minister of Health for their strong leadership and stellar efforts in ensuring that that the citizenry are regularly updated and educated on the measures to be taken to protect against contracting the virus. It was indeed uplifting to observe that our women are at the forefront in the management of the COVID-19 virus. This serves as testimony to the competence and resilience of women in leadership roles.

It was noteworthy that the Presidents of the associations who made presentations were also female and supported the various measures implemented by the Prime Minister and his team. We wish to thank the women on the frontline, women of our party and the nation for their role in the fight against COVID-19.

We are proud of the Prime Minister’s hard work and commitment in ensuring that citizens are safe. We have full confidence in our Prime Minister Honourable Allen M. Chastanet, a man of integrity. The Women’s arm extends its support as we chart the way forward during this time of unprecedented challenges and uncertainty.

May God Bless you and keep you safe. Together we can and we will overcome.
