A Night’s Walk Turned Deadly

The island recorded its first homicide on Monday 4, January 2021.

The community of Faux-a-Chaux, Castries was disturbed by the sound of gunshots on Monday night after two of their own had been ambushed by gun tooting thug(s).

The community was plunged in mourning after the sight of one of their own, 53-year-old, Stevedore, Martin Joseph lying motionless on the cold road with visible gunshot wounds about his body.

His son, 23-year-old, Solomon Joseph, who was at the time walking with his father was also shot and had to be rushed to the OKEU hospital where he is said to be in stable condition.

The inconsolable daughter of Martin Joseph described her father as a loving man. She said she is confused as to why anyone would have the desire to take her father’s life in such a barbaric manner and has thrown her faith and trust behind the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force to bring the perpetrator(s) to justice.

Police have confirmed that they are yet to arrest anyone in connection with the island’s latest homicide and a motive has not yet been established.
