“We know that this year has been an incredibly challenging year for businesses and consumers alike, which is why we wanted to take this opportunity to embrace the season and give back to the community”, shared Eldri Ferguson-Mackey, OECS Head of Marketing. “The effects of the COVID-19 pandemic have been far reaching and many households will not be able to extend their scarce resources to purchase even the basic necessities. We at Courts saw this as an opportunity to open our hearts to our well-deserved customers, showing them that we care and we’re in-tuned to their needs”.

In addition to granting customers their wish list of items, Unicomer (Saint Lucia) Limited also partnered with The Corinth Secondary School, Class of 1990, to refurbish and furnish the home of a Marigot Family just in time for Christmas. Home furnishings to include a stove, a sofa bed, beds for two bedrooms and smart devices with 3 months of free data donated by FLOW, were supplied by Courts at no charge to the family. Fiona Phillip Mayer, coordinator for the project, along with her team expressed their profound gratitude to the Unicomer (Saint Lucia) Limited family for their generosity and quick response to their request for support.

“We constantly strive to be good corporate citizens and we are cognizant that as a business, we operate in communities and those communities are made up of people,” expressed Mrs. Ferguson-Mackey. “The warmth and the appreciation seen on the faces of this family and the persons we’ve touched this Christmas, reminds us that if we all did our part, no matter how small or regardless of the obstacles, we will meet with change that is profound and unexpected. This is the most beautiful time of the year and we would like to wish all a Merry Christmas and a Happy and Prosperous New Year.”
