THE Labour Party in particular, the MP for Castries South decried the presence of OJO Labs on a regular basis, but today, we are pleased to inform the nation that the company presently employs some 240 persons and from this month onwards, the company will take on 50 additional persons (per month) for the next five months, resulting in a new location being sourced in the north to tap on the talent available in this part of the island.
The reasons for the expansion are two-fold, first the Saint Lucian talent has surpassed the expectations of the directors and secondly, OJO Labs International has recently acquired a new company involved in the production of specialized call center equipment which has facilitated the advancement of the industry.
Just imagine, that by January 2021 some 500 persons will be involved in the artificial intelligence field. Another plus to all these successes, is as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic where some 75 employees were able to work from home and will continue to do so for quite sometime.
Stop throwing dirt in our eyes and call it what it is. This has nothing to do with artificial intelligence. It’s a glorified call center
