LAST year 1st National Bank St. Lucia was the first bank in the Eastern Caribbean to be awarded the Bracken Bank of the year for 2019 by The Banker Magazine, which is an internationally acclaimed Financial magazine published by the Financial Times. As of March 2020, St. Lucia’s first indigenous bank copped two other prestigious accolades.
In the words of Marketing Officer Sherydan Eleuthere “I am pleased and excited to announce that we have been awarded not one, but two more international awards. The International Banker Magazine on its quest to recognize top ranking individuals and organizations setting new benchmarks for performance and pushing the boundaries within the financial industry, has awarded 1st National Bank St. Lucia: Best Commercial Bank of the Year and “Best Innovation in Retail Banking”.
Ms. Eleuthere went on to say “As an indigenous bank, this for us speaks volumes and is testament to the hard work and commitment of our Board of Directors Management and Staff. We accept these awards on behalf of our shareholders and valued customers and thank them for their loyalty as well as their business. Mention must also be made of our regulators, the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB) for their efforts at creating and maintaining a stable financial space in which banks can thrive.
Our journey from good to great is a never ending one; for today’s great is tomorrow’s good. As we extend our footprint, we hope to continue a legacy that all St. Lucians here and within the diaspora can be proud of.
To date 1st National Bank is the most award-winning Bank on island having won a total of twelve crystals at the St. Lucia Business Awards, three regional awards from the ECCB, and three international awards: one from the Banker and two from the International Banker.
