THE Super 16 Primary Schools Football competition organized jointly by the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Youth Development and Sports and the Saint Lucia Football Association continued at the SAB Playing Facility with the staging of three matches.
In the day’s first encounter, Camille Henry Memorial, runners up of District Two, defeated runners up of District Four 3 – 0.
They got their goals from Anwar Gill in the 6th minute, Jahnard Modest 56th minute and Trae Constantine in the 60th minute.
The second game played was a thrilling encounter between St Aloysious Boys Primary, runners up of District Three and Anse la Raye Primary winners of District Four, which ended in an exciting 2 – 2 draw.
Messiah Pinam scored both goals for the RC Boys in the 15th and 49th minute, while Adriano Auguste and Percy Edmund scored for Anse la Raye in the 22nd and 45th minutes respectively.
In the final game played on the day, Gros Islet Primary winners of the District One Primary Schools competition, recovered from being down by an early goal to defeat the Bishop Charles Gachet RC Combined 4 – 2.
Scoring for Gros Islet Primary were Devonte Herman in the 24th minute, Jeankial John in the 32nd minute, Traylon Henry in the 39th minute and Malik Louis in the 58th minute.
The semifinals of the Schools Under 19 Basketball competition concluded on Tuesday 5th November at the Vigie Sports Complex.
In the first match played St Mary’s College defeated Soufriere Comprehensive Secondary 35 – 20.
Leading the way for SMC were Zachary Auguste 19 points, 13 rebounds and SadiqJerville with 5 points and 7 rebounds.
For Soufriere Comprehensive, Nigel Cadette 12 points, 4 rebounds and 7 steals and Hezekiah Prospere 6 points and 14 rebounds.
In the other semifinal, Sir Arthur Lewis Community College made light work of Castries Comprehensive Secondary to emerge victors 43 – 26.
The main contributors for Sir Arthur were Keon Allen 18 points, 7 rebounds and RenairYarde 15 points 4 rebounds.
In football, Jon Odlum Memorial defeated Ciceron Secondary 4 – 1.
They got their goals from Sharquan Barthelmy in the 4th minute, Ric Joseph in the 16th minute, an own goal by Jervelle Monrose in the 54th minute and Curtisho Stephen in the 58th minute.
Jhabarie Charles scored for Ciceron Secondary in the 32nd minute.
For Castries Comprehensive, Jamil James had 9 points, 6 rebounds and Shaquan Severin 8 points and 9 rebounds.
