VICTORY Eagles are the champions of the Saint Lucia Football Association (SLFA) Inc. Zonal Under 17 football competition; their win came after they defeated 1987 All Stars from Anse la Raye 2-0 in a penalty shootout.
In the final witnessed by a very appreciative crowd both teams gave of their best in an exciting match up as they played to a pulsating goalless draw.
In the ensuing penalty shootout Victory Eagles prevailed 2 – 0 to capture the championship.
For third place silverware, Pioneers FC defeated RYO from Mabouya Valley 3 – 0.
They got their goals from Sherquan Nelson, Nathan Lamontagne and Ajani Hippolyte.
Following the conclusion of the event trophies and medals were presented to the worthy winners.
The SLFA congratulated all the participating clubs, their coaches, supporters, officials, the host community and all who made the 2019 tournament a success.
