THE Castries Table Tennis Centre in Vide Boutielle was a hive of activity when the Saint Lucia National Table Tennis Association (SLTTA) held the Boys Under 13 and Under 11 National Championships.
In matches played, Nathan Alexander defended his No.1 ranking when he conquered his opponent in the preliminary round to advance to the quarter finals. In the quarter finals he defeated Laviktwa Kenswill in straight sets 3-0.
Leshon Francis defeated Austin Prospere 3-0, Jeron Charles fought a tightly contested match against Stephen Steele 3-2 and Joshua Lubin edged out Rawson Harris 3-2.
In the first semi-final match, Nathan Alexander defeated Leshon Francis 3-2; set scores 13-11, 11-9, 3-11, 7-11 and 11-6.
In the second semifinal match Joshua Lubin defeated Jeron Charles 3-2; set scores 11-4, 2-11, 7-11, 11-5 and 13-11.
Nathan went on to dominate the finals winning 3-0. Set scores 11-8, 11-2 and 11-9 to become the National Under 13 Table Tennis Champion.
In the Under 11 category, Leshon Francis defeated Vernon Salvator 3-0; he then breezed past Laviktwa Kenswill 3-0 and in the finals he conquered Shayne Edgar 3 – 1. Set scores 11-4, 9-11, 11-6 and 11-5.
