THE Saint Lucia Tourism Authority (SLTA), is thrilled to be associated with the ongoing West Indies Home Series.
The destination recorded its largest number yet in stay over arrivals for Test Cricket since 2010, with the West Indies versus England 3rd Test that got underway at the Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium from February 9 – 13.
An estimated one thousand five hundred and seventy-five (1,575) visitors contributed to the spirited atmosphere at the game, approximately 90 percent of whom were from the UK.
As the main sponsor of Saint Lucia’s leg, the SLTA had the opportunity to showcase the island not only to cricket fans, but also to the rest of the world.
“With the excitement and global support for both teams, what better way to appeal to our audiences than at a time when broadcast is at its peak. We continue to receive rave reviews from our different markets about the advertisements depicting Saint Lucia’s inspiring experiences and natural attributes,” Acting CEO at the Saint Lucia Tourism Authority, Tiffany Howard said. “In addition, the Authority’s logo is prominently displayed in 3D on the pitch mat and on perimeter boards.”
The England versus West Indies’ tour of the Caribbean is live across the talkSPORT network during key tour dates. This is another excellent platform for highlighting the destination outside of cricket commentary. During peak listening hours of 6:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m., all talkSPORT shows are transmitted to over 1 million listeners throughout the UK, making it a great place to promote Saint Lucia as a tourist destination. The series is also broadcasted on Sky and BBC Five Live with regularly updated bulletins and coverage across the BBC network and all UK national newspapers.
Online tickets were sold-out for the 5th ODI in the Colonial Medical Insurance Series between West Indies and England on Saturday, March 2 and for the 1st T20 between West Indies and England – on Tuesday, March 5.

Our members are commenting favourably on the returns and we look forward to the upcoming games.”
With overwhelming excitement displayed throughout the series, the SLTA is adding a special touch, by including a booth in the stands, where supporters can receive information on the destination and collect branded fans reflective of Saint Lucia’s 40th Anniversary of Independence.
